ready for fall break

Hey all! Not too much has happened lately... hence the lack of updates.

This past weekend was nice... relaxing. First time in a few weeks that we've stayed in town and didn't have any plans. Some of our friends here had a bunch of girls from home in town, so we went out with them quite a bit this weekend... that was really fun!

Saturday morning Megan and I ended up making pancakes for Elisabeth. Some girls that lived here previously had left pancake mix with Elisabeth, and the boxes were in English so she needed our help making them. They actually turned out quite well, thanks to Megan! That afternoon, Elisabeth asked us to join her in going to the movie theater. She saw a preview for El Diable Viste de Prada (The Devil Wears Prada) and really wanted to see it, so we immediately took her up on the offer! I was excited to see my first movie in Spanish! I loved it! There were a few lines here and there that I didn't understand but for the most part I picked up on everything... I was very proud of myself! I was amazed at how similar the movie theaters are to home. I guess I just expected everything here to be so much different from home, but in reality things are often much more similar than I would have thought. They even have wonderful popcorn! :) The seats were actually even more comfortable than any of the seats I've sat in at home, so yay for that!

Yesterday Megan and I decided to try walking from our house to the main plaza. We always take the metro, and it's only like an 8 minute metro ride, but since it's a straight shot down one main street I had mentioned that I wanted to walk it sometime. We just kinda wandered down... doing a little window shopping along the way and made it to the plaza in about 50 minutes. It wasn't a bad walk at all... especially since it was slightly downhill all the way. Not sure if it'd be so easy to walk in the other direction. It was cool though because I got to see a ton of cafes and shops that I've never seen since I'm always underground! I'm considering starting to walk to or from school everyday just to get some exercise. To is a little bit harder since I'd have to wake up like an hour earlier for school, but home is uphill, so we'll see.

We only have 3 days of classes this week, since Fall Break starts on Thursday! It's so wonderful! I think I'm gonna be pretty lonely on Wednesday night-Friday since everyone's starting to go out of town. Megan's going to Granada by herself from Weds night-Friday, but I didn't want to go for just one day, so I'm staying home to finish all my homework before my parents come on Saturday!!!! I can't wait! This semester is already flying by... I can't believe it. Carlee McConnell is coming to Barcelona on Thursday with some of her friends from Salamanca and I'm hoping to meet up with them at some point, so that should be pretty cool!

I need some updates from all of you guys! Tell me what's new! Even if it's small stuff... it's so nice to hear ANYTHING from the people that I love and care about more than anything! And please continue to keep me updated on stuff in the news, I'm getting really behind! Kisses and hugs for all!
